The history of our place begins about 30 years ago when it was built with the best local essences of almond tree and teak.

The new guesthouse opened with the name of "Rancho del Diablo" which translated sounds like hut of the devil, a local legend tells that in origin there was a wall painted with a scene of waves and devils intent on surfing them.

The second owner, a legendary surfer named John Wood Logan, III, "Logie", who changed the name to "Playa Grande Inn", in Grande there is a surf spot named for John "Logie's Ledge" mentioned in "Wave Finder of Central America".

Ten years ago the Reina family began its journey of serving international guests who attend the playa Grande retreat in search of peace, nature and magnificent waves.
